4 Ways to Reduce Pet Hair Everywhere in the Home

If you’re a pet owner, you know that pet hair is one of the biggest challenges in keeping your home clean. Often it seems that pet hair is simply everywhere you look, and the bad news is that as long as you have a furry pet that sheds, the supply is not running out.

At PetHairPatrol.com our mission is to help you keep your home clean even though you have one or two pets that shed heaps of hair every day. It is an ongoing battle, but luckily, there are 4 great ways to reduce pet hair in your home.

Follow this advice to keep your home free of pet hair:

1. Get a powerful pet hair vacuum

First of all, you need to get yourself a good vacuum that is capable of wiping out that nasty hair. A vacuum cleaner is the best way to get rid of the cat or dog hair that is invading your home.

Unfortunately, not any vacuum will do. Most vacuum cleaners just don’t have what it takes – as you may have noticed. What you need is a vacuum that is designed for the purpose and has all those features that enable it to deal with pet hair efficiently.

Firstly, you need to have powerful suction and preferably a brush roll tool that will pull up all that pet hair from any surface. Secondly, you need a large dirt cup to make sure the hair won’t block the suction. Also, you want to make sure is that the vacuum cleaner is adaptable and that it can be used on all surfaces. After all, pet hair does find its way everywhere. You can find some of the best vacuums here.

2. Brush your pet regularly

Brushing your pet regularly is a sure way to reduce pet hair in your home significantly.

If your pet sheds, there is nothing you can do about it. Excessive shedding may be treated with proper nutrition and medication, but if you have a furry pet that sheds, there is no way to stop that hair from falling out. Shedding is natural and it will help keep your pet healthy.

But since pet hair can be annoying and most pet owners struggle with keeping their home from being invaded by it, it’s good that there is something we can do to keep that hair from landing everywhere.

To keep that loose pet hair down to the minimum, you should brush your pet twice a week or even every day. It will give you and your pet a special time to bond, but also make sure that all that loose hair is brushed out instead of being wafted into the air.

By finding the right type of brush and grooming your pet, you will be able to keep your home much cleaner.

3. Use a pet blanket or pet bed

What most pet owners find is that their pet has a favorite spot to relax in. Often that spot is in the corner of the couch or on your favorite recliner. Where ever it may be, that spot is probably covered in pet hair after every time your pet takes a nap.

A simple solution to keeping that pet hair under control is to buy a pet blanket or pet bed. If your cat or dog is using the couch as their favorite place for napping, just cover that area with a pet blanket. It will protect your furniture, and it can easily be washed and popped into the dryer once a week.

Also, you could buy a pet bed and teach your pet to use it. Many pets quickly learn that their new bed is a comfortable place for some peace and quiet. By getting your pet accustomed to a pet bed, you can get rid of all the hair by vacuuming and washing the bed when needed.

4. Keep your home tidy

As you know, pet hair can be found everywhere in your home. It’s just shocking how much of that stuff you find at your home. Because pet hair likes to find places it can hide in, it’s important you keep your home tidy.

Clean up the clutter every day and put your things away. It will make vacuuming more manageable and give pet hair fewer places to hide in. Put your clothes in the laundry basket or fold them in the closet, pick up things from the floor and make your bed. By keeping your home in order, you will also be keeping that problem under control.

With these tips, you will be able to keep your home clean and fresh – even with those furry roomies of yours. We love our pets, and we love a clean house. And with a little bit of effort, you can have both.
