As we are head into the new year, now is the perfect time to set some “dogoals” for your furry friend! Everyone, even our canine companions, deserve a clean slate when January roles around or any time of the year. Our mission for our barking buddies should always be to keep them as healthy as we possibly can!

Some ideas for new years resolution for you and your dog:

  1. Measure their food

When preparing to feed your dog, you should not just focus on the type, but also the amount of dog food. The amount of food given with each meal varies depending on a number of factors. Some factors include: size, breed, weight, and age. When determining how much to feed your dog, it is essential to take into consideration how much exercise they get on a daily basis. Consult with your veterinarian to ensure that you are not over-feeding your furry friend.

  1. Take them on a trip

A trip does not mean you have to get in the car and drive somewhere far, a trip is taking them somewhere they have never been before. Just like their pet family, they want to experience all life has to offer too! This is not just a New Year’s resolution for your four-legged friend, but for pet parents as well. Taking your dog somewhere new means you get to go and experience the outside world too.

  1. Experience new activities

Exposing your dog to new activities will ensure that they will stay active and engage with you for as long as possible. This is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your furry friend and show them the love they deserve. These activities can include indoor games if you are in an area that is currently facing winter weather.

Our barking buddies should participate in making New Year’s resolution, just like their human family! Holidays are much more fun when we incorporate our dogs into all the festivities that we participate in during the holidays.
